20 for 20 Alumni profiles - Mara Kroth

Please meet our alumna @Mara Kroth, Director and Co-Founder of GoldenMe, a non-profit organisation which helps elderly in Luxembourg to be more digitally included. Thanks to her knowledge in psychology which Mara was studying at the University of Luxembourg, she identified the reason behind loneliness within older population and is now addressing it with GoldenMe's Smartphone Cafes where younger people teach elderly to use technology in order to stay connected after retirement.

Mara's student life on Belval campus was as active as one can imagine with many student organisations, events and competitions: from winning Ideation Camp with the idea of GoldenMe to moderating TEDx event. On the occasion of University's 20th Anniversary, Mara told us how she came to study at Uni.lu in her 20for20 video and shared a few memorable moments in the interview below.

What was your favourite class at Uni.lu?

Personality Psychology.

The professor who you will never forget and why?

Prof. Günter Krampen for his interesting classes and for simply being iconic.

Did you learn any new languages at Uni.lu?

Yes, I learned Luxembourgish.

Dalmat Café.

Most memorable student event or party:

Tedx University of Luxembourg event in October 2019 and the Halloween Party at MAE thereafter.
