Alumni Stories Podcast to Inspire Students

There are very few things in life that the Alumni Network crew enjoys more than talking to our alumni and about our alumni so when we found out that the University of Luxembourg is launching a new podcast with alumni in the spotlight, we couldn't wait to to find out more. 

We spoke to the team behind this project to find out the background story. "It was Ariane Henry's idea (Communications Office Team Coordinator at the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences)," says Masti Shaswar, an Intern at the University of Luxembourg Media Center working on the project. "She had been thinking about this project for a long time and was looking for the right fit. Due to her support and incredible skillset, we were able to create something beautiful and I’m very proud to be a part of it."

The Alumni Stories podcast is for anyone who is aiming for the next steps in life and is in need of some inspiration. "We really want to help young students who are indecisive and unclear about their academic choices," continues Masti. "After finishing school, I wondered what I could do but I couldn’t seem to put my finger on it. Having access to a podcast like this would’ve helped me so much back then. We’d like to share with students the experiences and knowledge of our alumni. Who could know the system better than people that went through it and are now happy to help others, by explaining how they figured out certain things or overcame certain situations? This podcast is meant to inspire."

The podcast will cover a broad spectrum of career choices to provide its listeners better insight. "That it’s totally okay to move at your own pace and that most people haven’t figured out their lives yet, especially after school and in your 20’s," sums up Masti. "Don’t let the internet fool you and don’t compare yourself to the process of others. You are unique, and it might need a take or two to find something that emphasizes your specialties. However, you will find something eventually and things will fall into place naturally – just let it be!"
