Let us introduce you to Maika Grosbusch who did her both Bachelor's and Master's at the University of Luxembourg and is now a Senior Associate at Arendt & Medernach. Maika will tell us how studying Law would look like on Limpertsberg campus some 10 years ago.

What was your favourite class at Uni.lu?

Too hard to pick one, so, without any particular ranking: Public international law with Matthew Happold, Corporate Law with Isabelle Corbisier (and the TD with Laurent Schummer) and FIAM Moot trainings with Nicolina Bordian and Bernd Justin Jütte.

The professor who you will never forget and why?

Isabelle Corbisier - for making me appreciate extensive footnotes.

Katalin Ligeti - for taking us to the halls of international criminal law.
Elise Poillot - for how much fun she was having with her chosen field of law.

Did you learn any new languages at Uni.lu and if you did, which ones?

I did not, but successfully refreshed some of my Spanish and Polish during my Erasmus semester in Wroclaw.

When you were not in the library (or LLC), you could be found at...

The Hall du Recteur (Limpertsberg) for University Choir rehearsals, or at the Weicker building for moot practice.

Most memorable student event or party:

Each of the University summer concerts showcasing the performing arts ventures of the students and staff.

The most popular band/singer while you were a student:

Lady Gaga (I think).

Most popular song while you were at Uni.lu:

Somebody I used to Know (Gotye feat. Kimbra).

Best concert you went to when you were a student:

Warsaw Village Band at Tramschapp.

Your favourite movie while you were a student:

Jane Campion's Bright Star and J.C. Chandor's Margin Call.

Your favourite TV/streaming series while at Uni.lu:

Firefly (I was late to that party) and Pushing Daisies.

Your favourite restaurant while you were a student:

Happ (with honorable mention for Snack Pamukkale at its old location).

Your favourite bar or club in Luxembourg while you were a student:

Konrad Cafe.

When you were studying at Uni.lu, the top fashion item was...

A Macbook.

Which Prime Minister, member of the Royal Family, or other VIP did you take a selfie with?

None - but I met the Grand-Ducal Couple, the Hereditary Grand-Ducal couple, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, Justice Sandra Day-O'Connor, and Former UN SecGen Ban-Ki Moon.

One thing that happened in Luxembourg during your student time that you still remember:

The first Bommeléer court case.

Love it
