Promoting bilateral trade and cultural ties between China and Luxembourg - CHINALUX
We are excited to introduce you to one of our founding GradPack partners China-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (CHINALUX), a non-profit organisation supporting bilateral trade and cultural ties between China and Luxembourg.
The Chamber was founded in Luxembourg in 2013. “CHINALUX is a platform where companies and people from Luxembourg and from China come together because they want to know each other, they all have an interest in both Luxembourg and China.” shares Jacques Bortuzzo, Vice President, Events & Communications Committee Lead at CHINALUX.

“Whether it's a Chinese company doing business in Luxembourg or a Luxembourgish company doing business with China, this is a platform where people can meet.” CHINALUX works towards promoting bilateral trade and cultural ties between China and Luxembourg. The Chamber engages with both the Chinese and Luxembourgish business communities and aims to be a valuable cultural asset to promote positive connections and networking. “Apart from the economic perspective, there is obviously also the cultural aspect because when you do events and you have speakers from both China and Luxembourg, you get to know the culture,” adds Jacques. “For me, it is a platform to promote economic and cultural ties between Luxembourg and China by bringing companies and people who work with both countries together.”

Our alum Yuhao Zhu (known in Luxembourg as Jeremy Zhu), who did his Master’s in Logistics and Supply Chain Management in 2023, joined CHINALUX because of the networking, cultural exchange, and professional growth opportunities. “CHINALUX offers a dynamic platform for professional development,” Yuhao shares.
“Their events provide opportunities to discuss and learn about the latest trends in the relations between China and Luxembourg, which align with my experience in strategic consulting and my academic focus,” - he adds.
Cultural aspects played a big part in his decision to become a member of CHINALUX too. “The Chinese New Year Celebration has deepened my appreciation for cultural exchange,” he added. “CHINALUX's commitment to fostering cultural understanding between China and Luxembourg is something I find particularly important.”
Jacques finds Yuhao’s experience pretty typical for other Chamber members: “If you join CHINALUX and come to our events, over time you will have a very interesting contact list and that is obviously advantageous for any future career. Let's not forget that the people who are in this association don't only do business with Luxembourg or China. That might be one part of their business, but they obviously have many others so it's not only that China- Luxembourg corridor, many other opportunities may open to you.”
The partnership between the Alumni Network and CHINALUX started because the Chamber is interested in seeing more University of Luxembourg alumni among their members and kindly offers free membership for the first year for new University of Luxembourg graduates. “I think a lot of our members are looking for talent,” sums up Jacques. “Why go to countries that are far away if we have talent in Luxembourg already? Through the events we're doing in Luxembourg, the alumni of the University of Luxembourg, have an easy way to be connected to us and our members. We don't have to travel far in order to connect and get to know each other.”
