20 for 20 Alumni profiles - Ligia Deca

As our 20 for 20 Alumni video series continues, this week we take you back to 2016, when Ligia Deca was finishing her PhD in Political Science. Seven years later she has gone on to become the Minister of Education in Romania.

During her PhD, Ligia's research focused on the internationalisation of Higher Education in Romania through a political science perspective under the guidance of Prof Robert Harmsen, now Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. "I can honestly say that it has being an eye-opening experience for me," Ligia shares. "I was extremely thankful for my collegues, I had a wonderful support of my PhD supervisor and I think Luxembourg for me was a lesson on how to reflect on what you professionally do in an academic way."
