Get a Job! - University of Luxembourg Career Centre

The Career Centre was founded in 2011 to turn great students into great job candidates. By working with recruiters and looking at Luxembourg’s employability surveys the Career Centre can offer students help where they need it most, from taking a professional photo for a CV to learning how to work in a multicultural environment. And now the Career Centre's services are also being extended to alumni.
A Job in Sales?
Romain Raux is one of the university's happiest employees because of his work at the Career Centre. “I like to joke that I am a salesman,” he said in an interview, “because I am ‘selling’ the best product on the market: Uni.lu students and alumni!”
The Career Centre has a job board where students can see what jobs and careers they can apply to right now. But there are more than just careers at Uni.lu on the job board. Romain brings recruiters, students, and alumni together, giving everyone more (and better) opportunities than can be found on Indeed or any other public job board.
The Career Centre job board is free for recruiters and companies who want to post their job offers, internships or student jobs, or just to present their structure to students. All they have to do is sign up.

Alumni Access
The benefits of the Career Centre for students and companies are clear. I, the author, even got this job with the alumni office through the Career Centre’s job board! But now, as part of the alumni GradPack, registered alumni receive these same benefits, including access to the job board and workshops. Raux emphasized that “I never say no to alumni” and the alumni who have worked with him couldn’t agree more.
And when the new alumni platform is launched in 2023, this will open up even more opportunities as the feed from the job board will plug directly into the platform.
Unicareers 2022
Unicareers, organized by Moovijob with the help of the Career Centre, is the biggest recruitment fair in Luxembourg. This year's edition will take place on Friday, 30 September at the Luxexpo. This is the opportunity for students and recent alumni (up to 5 years of working experience) to get a head start on their careers with some of Luxembourg’s biggest companies (like Luxair, BIL, and Encevo) and plenty more from across the world (Goodyear, Credit Suisse, etc.).
We’re all familiar with the vicious cycle of ‘entry-level’ jobs that require 5 years of experience that we can only get with an entry-level job! Because Unicareers lets us talk to recruiters directly (and skip sending a CV over email), candidates can show them what they’re really capable of. But this isn’t a job search cheat code. Romain stressed that “the keyword for Unicareers is preparation! You have to be professional and treat this like a job interview. Why? Because it is!”
Registration for Unicareers 2022 is required and closes on Thursday, 29 September at 18h30. But even if you can’t attend there will be plenty of workshops for students and alumni to participate throughout the 2022-23 school year.
