Welcome to Histofest!
Join us for the first-ever History Festival in Belval – a day full of discovery and exchange.

For this inaugural edition, Histofest puts the spotlight on the many visitors of Esch-sur-Alzette – from prominent state leaders to unexpected guests who left their mark on the city’s past. Step into their stories, explore their legacies, and don’t forget to share your own memories of historic visits to Esch.

The festivities begin at 16:30 with an exhibition, a photo challenge, and lively encounters focused on Luxembourg's rich contemporary history. Be sure to stop by the bookbinding workshop and learn how to craft your own booklet and take home a piece of the past!

In the evening, head over to Kinepolis for the evening film programme starting at 18:30, featuring two powerful documentaries:
• 18:30 - Tito Among the Serbs for the Second Time by Želimir Žilnik 
• 20:15- Nicolae by Mihai Grecu 

Each screening includes an introduction and a Q&A with the directors—an unique chance to explore history through film and dialogue.
